| This International Scientific Consensus Conference will be held in conjunction with the IV World Pasta Congress in Rio de Janeiro. | |||||||||||||||||||
Scientists from around the world will meet on October 25th to present and discuss the latest nutritionresearch on carbohydrates, traditional diets, the healthy pasta meal and other relevant nutrition topics. |

A scientists-only meeting will be held on October 25-26th in a separate meeting room, in conjunctionwith the World Pasta Congress, to develop and discuss the updated Scientific Consensus Statement on the Healthy Pasta Meal. It will be fully conducted in English without translation. |

This Scientific Consensus Statement will be presented at the IV World Pasta Congress on the afternoonof October 26th. |

The Scientific Consensus Statement will be distributed in four languages: English, Portuguese, Spanishand Italian. |

| It has been more than six years since the first Healthy Pasta Meal Scientific Consensus Conference successfully challenged the intense promotions for the Atkins Low-Carbohydrate Diet. The conference was organized by Oldways in Rome (Italy), on February 16-18, 2004. | |||||||||||||||||||
| With nutrition experts in most of the world’s developed countries now focusing on obesity, and in particular, childhood obesity, it is extremely important to update the Scientific Consensus Statement and reconfirm pasta’s role in a healthy, balanced diet. | |||||||||||||||||||
